Tailin's Containment Isolator for Crushing and Weighing provides an OEB Level 5 negative-pressure solution for high-potency API production. By integrating a hammer mill and high-precision balance into a single closed system, it eliminates transfer risks.
As the pharmaceutical industry rapidly advances toward high-potency active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), peptide drugs, and cell therapies, occupational exposure protection has taken center stage. Maintaining stringent containment at OEB Level 5 and above is no longer just a regulatory preference—it is a mandatory standard for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management and successful GMP inspections.
Among all production steps, crushing and weighing are the highest-risk nodes for dust generation and operator exposure. During the crushing process, the input of mechanical energy leads to particle micronization and aerosolization, causing fine drug dust to remain suspended in the air for extended periods and spread over wide areas. Meanwhile, open-handle operations during weighing and dispensing exponentially increase the risk of dust exposure. Traditional workflows rely on standalone equipment, requiring multiple material transfers that elevate cross-contamination risks and threaten operator health.
Tailin’s Containment Isolator for Crushing and Weighing solves these challenges by seamlessly integrating an industrial hammer mill and an ultra-precise electronic balance into a single, closed negative-pressure system.
Traditional setups separate particle size reduction from dispensing, which forces frequent manual handling and lid openings. Tailin’s isolator re-engineers this workflow:

Integrated into the rear of the chamber, the heavy-duty hammer mill impacts, shears, and frictionally grinds materials via high-speed rotating blade-hammer assemblies, achieving flexible particle size control through replaceable screens. Common screen apertures range from 0.5mm to 3.0mm, corresponding to output particle sizes of 20 to 200 mesh, accommodating various material types such as lyophilized blocks, crystalline agglomerates, plant extracts, and fibrous APIs.
Batch processing capacities cover 100g to 10kg, balancing R&D pilot tests with commercial batch production. Thanks to the fully enclosed crushing and pneumatic conveying system, coupled with the effective retention of H14 HEPA filters, the system yield is ≥ 95%—meaning significant economic savings for high-value APIs.

Weighing inside an active isolator is often disrupted by vibrations, airflow turbulence, and pressure shifts. Tailin overcomes these hurdles through advanced engineering:
Designed to strict OEB Level 5 standards (OEL <1μg/m3), the equipment successfully passes rigorous containment leak tests, with leakage rates superior to ISO 10648-2 standard requirements.

Recognizing that no two pharmaceutical processes are identical, Tailin offers flexible configuration pathways: To address diverse production layouts and application scenarios—such as high-potency API crushing and weighing, sterile API processing, allergenic drug production, lyophilized block processing, and high-value small-batch R&D— TaiIin can derived multiple configuration combinations:
No matter the specific layout, Tailin provides fully tailored engineering designs to match the unique process specifications, achieving a seamless, fully enclosed workflow from drying and crushing to dispensing.

Backed by comprehensive full-lifecycle validation support—from Design Qualification (DQ) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and IQ/OQ/PQ protocols—TAILIN provides a bulletproof containment ecosystem for your most hazardous compounds.
